Service Program for WorkBC Employment Service Providers

The Employment Program of BC is funded under the Canada-BC Labour Market Development Agreement and takes an integrated approach to meeting the employment-related needs of individuals living in British Columbia. ATBC is pleased to support this initiative by offering One-Stop Assistive Technology Service to WorkBC Employment Service Providers throughout the Province. The One-Stop Assistive Technology Service is based on the Best Practices learned through providing assistive technology services for the EPPD program. Through this service, ATBC can assist you with providing a comprehensive assessment and technology trial for your clients with disabilities.

Description of One-Stop Assistive Technology Services

ATBC's One-Stop Assistive Technology Service is comprised of the following components:

  • Identification of candidate Technologies based on preliminary assessment of skills, work/learning environment, and required tasks;
  • In-practice assessment of Participant performing required tasks in context - this phase includes showing Participant how to use the Technology so she or he can fairly evaluate its usefulness;
  • Adjustments to candidate Technologies if needed;
  • Report on assessment and recommendations;
  • Continued trial of Technology while arrangements are made for permanent placement of the recommended Technology.

How to Make a Referral
